Steelers vs 49ers Recap

The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the San Francisco 49ers 24-20 on Sunday. The Steelers now hold a 0-3 record in the season.

The Steelers were testing out their new additions and lineup this game. The starting quarterback was Mason Rudolph and a new safety was Minkah Fitzpatrick. T.J. Watt made an interception in the first quarter, helping the team move towards the end zone. Chris Boswell made a field goal, putting the Steelers on the scoreboard. Fitzpatrick made the second interception for the team and Boswell made another field goal. By the end of the first quarter, the Steelers were up 6-0.

Devin Bush made two fumble recoveries at the beginning of the second quarter. Things started going downhill when Vance McDonald left the game with a shoulder injury and the 49ers made a field goal before going into halftime. The 49ers got the first touchdown of the game in the third quarter, but the Steelers quickly retaliated. Rudolph sent a long touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster, putting the Steelers ahead again. The 49ers came back, however, and made another touchdown. The opposing team was up 17-13 at the end of the third quarter.

The Steelers made their move at the beginning of the fourth quarter when Rudolph sent a touchdown pass to Diontae Johnson. This was Johnson’s first NFL touchdown. Watt scooped up another fumble recovery, but the 49ers came back to score another touchdown. The final score was 20-24 in favor of the 49ers. It was a disappointing loss for both the team and the new starters.

The Steelers are back home on Monday, September 30th at 8:15 P.M. They will face the Cincinnati Bengals at Heinz Field. If you want a new jersey signed by your favorite player for the next game, be sure to get your ticket to our next public signing on September 28th.
